Welcome to
Minehead and District u3a
Minehead and District u3a is run by members for members, all in a voluntary capacity. Members help set up and clear away meetings and events, host interest groups, drive members who need transport to meetings, and sit on the Executive Committee.

We hold a members meeting once a month. At these friendly, warm and enjoyable meetings we usually have a visiting speaker, and each one introduces us to completely different topics and subjects. From Dads Army to Jack the Ripper, and Australia to Arthor C Clark. There is also time to socialise and chat, and enjoy a cup of something! Please contact us for more information.

Our committee manages all aspects of the u3a, including setting up and managing Interest Groups, organizing events and speakers, and helping members get the most benefit from everything we do.

What is u3a?

There are more than 1,000 local u3as – spread right across the UK – and members are making the most of life by continuing their creative, educational or social interests in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.

A world of new experiences is open to you at u3a – if you are no longer in full-time work or raising a family – u3a gives you opportunities to develop your interests, make new friends and have fun.

Founded in 1982, u3a is a UK-wide collection of locally-run interest groups that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn for fun
